Speed and performance are words that are not often associated with a convertible, but Hennessey Venom GT Spyder has managed to break the myths and records to become the fastest convertible on the planet. The automaker has been working to ensure that they come up with record breaking technologies that can lend more speed to their vehicles and with Venom GT Spyder, Hennessey has created a convertible that beats the existing convertible record held by Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse at 254 mph.

The new Hennessey Venom GT Spyder now officially beats the record with a 265.6 mph run to register itself among the hottest cars of all time.
This new record was broken at the 2.9 long runway that belongs to the United States Navy in Lemoore, California. The all new updated convertible is powered by an updated 7.0 liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 1,451 bhp that exceeds 207 bhp more than the Bugatti Veyron. The convertible also races from 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds and 0-100 mph in 4.4 seconds. The car has a 6-speed manual gearbox by Ricardo and uses Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that can handle enormous amount of speed and pressure. The all new Hennessey Venom GT Spyder also beats 2014 Bentley GTR3 and 2014 Ferrari F12.
The company also revealed that they will be making only three such cars which will be a ‘World Record Edition’ as a tribute to the company’s 25 years celebration. It is estimated that the cost of each vehicle will be around USD1.3 million.
