For most people, the choice of which car to buy is a tough one. There are so many considerations to take into account. But for people who want to use their car for work too, the decision is even more complicated. Often the car that you’d buy for yourself just isn’t appropriate for work.
Car makers know what you’re going through. That’s why they’re doing their best to build cars for the business customer. These are cars that are good if you have to travel for work, but are also just as easy to enjoy in your free time. So what are they?
Volvo has recently put a lot of effort into making their cars safer. And the S60 is no exception. This executive car benefits from Volvo’s emerging pedigree on the safety front and is fully kitted out with the latest safety tech.
The car has a beautiful and comfortable cabin for those long journeys. And for business people concerned with price, the car is competitive. Unlike on a lot of executive cars, you don’t end up paying more for add-ons. Most equipment you’ll need comes bundled in the standard price.
If however, you need a lot of space to carry around luggage, the S60 might not be the best choice. It lacks boot space, and there isn’t an awful lot of space in the back either.
Jaguar has recently been making inroads into the executive market again. It has been an area in which they have lost some significant ground to German automakers in the past. But now the company has turned its’ product range around.
The ride is very comfortable, and the handling is exactly what you’d expect from Jaguar-Land Rover
If you go for the 2.0-litre model, the running costs won’t be as high a you expect either. You can always plug the numbers into an MPG calculator online to find out what is your usage. Jaguar claims that even the bottom of the range car will produce 68.9mpg, which is quite astounding.
No post about the best cars for business could fail to mention the BMW 320d. Yes, this car is good for business, having a good mileage at 56.0mpg. But the car also benefits from its awesome looks, not to mention the fact that it handles very well on the road.
The 320d is the car that you’d choose if you’re somebody leaning towards a car more for pleasure than for work. The drive, performance and handling are excellent.
There have been complaints about the steering. But this is a minor gripe when you consider the car as an overall package.
Audi A3 Sport
With a stylish cabin and high resale prices, the A3 is probably the best car from the point of view of business.
Thanks to the impeccable German engineering that goes into making each A3, the cars tend to be highly reliable.
Downsides are few. One of them is the high price, although you are paying for quality. The other is that it doesn’t come with a lot of space in the back.
