The all new 2012 Audi A3 e-tron is designed to provide better driving experience to the consumers in the urban congested environment. Let’s take a quick look at some of the top features in the 2012 Audi A3 e-tron review below.

Design

Audi has decided to go with the regular design that is similar to the A3 hatchback which makes the car compact and move swiftly in the urban traffic environment. The vehicle is smaller and therefore consumers will have no issues finding parking space in the city environment.

Audi has also said that they might change the overall looks of the car and that will make the car look different from the prototype version. The car also has a great character line on the sides and the front is very much similar to the regular A3 hatchback.

Specifications

The all new Audi A3 e-tron is powered with an all electric motor that has the ability to produce 134 horsepower and 199 lb feet of torque. The vehicle has 26 kW lithium-ion battery.

Audi has announced that the battery can perform up to 90 miles at the top speed of 90 kmph. To make the vehicle more dynamic and easy to control Audi has decided to go with lighter electric motor compared to A3’s gasoline and diesel engines. However, the battery does add another 500 pounds of weight to the vehicle.

Audi has decided to keep the battery in the rear side of the vehicle and therefore the vehicle has better stability while in motion.

The plug-in hybrid model is powered by 1.4 liter four cylinder engine with 211 horsepower and 20kW electric motor that has an electric range of approximately 31 miles.

Interior

On the inside, Audi has not made many changes to the vehicle and the car looks identical to the regular A3 models. The tachometer has been modified as the new one shows how much battery power you are using.
