2013 New York International Auto Show is all set to introduce Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid, the first ever from the automaker this year. Subaru is a subordinate of Fuji Heavy Industries of Japan and is located in Cherry Hill. The model is based on the XV crossover the company rolled out for the 2013 model year. XV Crosstrek Hybrid carries Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and is based on Subaru-engineered hybrid system.

Subaru is an automaker that gratifies the green-leaning set and now, for the first time it is stepping up in scale with it’s first-ever hybrid vehicle. There are no official details regarding the specifications of the Crosstrek Hybrid from Subaru, but we will have a clear picture once the model debuts at the New York Auto Show. All that is known is that the hybrid system is Subaru-developed and the car goes on sale later this year.

Looking on the outsides, the hybrid version seems quite similar to its gasoline-powered sibling except for some signs that identify it as a hybrid model. You can see the hybrid logo on the door in front door and on the rear of the car. There might be a revised dashboard for the interior. The green-minded crossover comes with raised roof rails and 8.7 inches of ground clearance with 17-inch alloy wheels. There is a flexible cargo area expected too.

Along with the new Crosstrek Hybrid, Subaru also plans to introduce a completely new performance concept car that hopes to give us a peek in the next-generation WRX.
